At the start of
cuffs there is a short ariel scene which looks out at sea and swiftly makes its
way across the area of where the programme will be set. This shows us that it
will be set on the sea side in Brighton and what sort of area most of the
action will take place in and also shows the vast area which the police force
needs to cover. After this shot it skips to a close up clip of Ryan driving in
a police car obviously heading somewhere in hurry. This shows us that he will
play an important role in the series.
Later on in the
programme there is a scene where the new in experienced police officer (Jake)
has to save Ryan from the attacker so the camera men show close ups of his face
to show how anxious he is and continuously switch between that angle and a wide
shot of him creeping up on the attacker. Having different angles makes this
series much more interesting as it shows much more emotion than if they just
showed a straight shot all the time.

Avengers prep
The avengers was very different to other tv programs of its time because one of the main characters was a woman which would not happen back in those days. Mrs peel was thought to be a trained just like Steed but no matter what steed always had the edge on Mrs Peel.Their clothes and props etc are very posh as they dress in taylor suits and fancy dresses and always do fencing which is considered to be a posh sport. The war is still in context in this time as there are paper planes hanging in the bar and Steed found the world war building were the soldiers would sleep.

Cuffs prep
At the beginning of the show, we can hear a voiceover at the start. This
voiceover is from the police captain who is saying that it takes courage
and conviction to become a police officer. This is saying the
police's view about the police officers and
how heroic they are and how they need to be good at the job they are doing. On the beach there are a group of people from a stag do and two people
from the nudist beach. The couple call the police man over and he can tell
that the people from the stag do are drunk and the couple are
trying to get them off the beach and the police man ends up getting
punched in the nose by the person in the stag do. This makes us feel
sorry for the police man as this shows how hard their job can be.

SOUND IN CUFFS
In this extract from cuffs, we hear a variety of different
sounds. We can hear lots of other police officers talking through their radios
and we can also hear sirens. As they are talking through the radios, we hear a
description of someone who the police are trying to track down, they describe a
man with dark hair, wearing a brown coat and dark trousers. This shows us how
busy the police are because they have stopped and they are already trying to
find someone else. This shows the effect of realism for what they are doing in
this episode could be happening right now in real life or an equivalent off.
We also hear some police sirens from the car chase, earlier on in the episode. The background music was added in which made it seem really intense as we do not know what is going to happen next. This siren effects are loud and brings attention to the audience as it makes them feel like they are involved in the scene.

Sweed trailer
In our latest media lesson we looked at the forest gump trailer and then watched a sewed version of the trailer. Sewed means recreations of famous films using minimal equipment and time. After we watched the sewed version we were shown all our equipment, we used cannon 50D cameras and were shown how to zoom, focus and use all the basic features of the equipment. We were then sent out to film a short 1 minute forest gump trailer using a camera and our surroundings. Once we were finished filming we came back inside and began to edit all of our clips into the trailer. Before we set of with editing we watched an i movie editing video. Our trailers are still a work in progress.
