USES AND GRATIFICATIONS OF THE LEGO MOVIE
One of the uses and gratifications of the Lego movie game is
personal identity. In the Lego movie game there is a character called emit who
is shown throughout the movie being very average and slightly boring. The
director is trying to make emit relate with the audience by making him seem
very average and ‘not special’. Emit is a big role model because he is just an
ordinary person like you or me but he is seen saving the world, this also
makes emit a role model for kids.

PG HORROR MOVIE
In Todays lesson we made a PG horror movie
trailer. At the start of the lesson we divided up into groups of 4, my group
was Mac, Seb, Nathan and I. We devised what props we wanted to use then setup
our filming equipment. For our film we are making a satanic circle type thing
which we called the circle game. So we used Mrs Mann's ivery letter opener as a
sacrificial knife as it is very decorative and detailed. We setup our camera
and tripod in the tunnel then filmed a series of cinematic shots with people hidden
around it. Our task was very fun and i wish to continue it in our next lesson
as it was very enjoyable and we did not get to finish it.

NEWS/EXAM Q8
The Observer home page shows lots of different uses of media
language and techniques. On the main page there is a bar which bring lots of
different types of news into a section of the most relevant/newest. In the
Observer their are articles that are humorous such as cartoons and funny
headlines. they also include puzzles, crosswords and some small games. They
also have some reviews talking about how good their articles are and how good
their newspapers are.
On the front page the main headlines and the pictures have very vibrant colors in them so they stand out. These images have a wide range of different and bright colors which are very eye catching and make people want to read it. We also get to know what the article is about as it shows a sneak peak of what is going to happen in it.

DOE 2
I used polar co-ordinates to create my Production
Company logo. I picked an image of the sydney skyline, made a
completely square canvas as a basis for the work then flipped the image 180
degrees and used polar co-ordinates to create the image you see below.
WHY A FILM COMPANY WOULD MAKE A GAME
There are many
reasons why a film company would make a game. The first reason is money. International video game revenue is estimated to be $91.5B, this is over
double the amount of the film industry which intern means more revenue for
them. The game also can help with advertising for the film because kids/teens
will see the adverts on Tv, You Tube or social media. The game can also attract
older children (to the film aswell) because most people that play video games
are teenagers.
LEGO MOVIE GENRE CODES
The movie title is the
largest bit on the poster because it is the most important thing as it is the
name of the movie. It tells you what the movie is about and also is made of
lego to fit in. On the Lego movie poster the title 'the lego movie' is made to
be big and bold to draw attention and shows everyone what it is about. The
title is made from lego which helps to show what its about. The statement on
the poster says 'the story of a nobody who saves everybody', this is a very
luring sentence because the audience members might relate to the beginning of
it and want to see how a nobody (such as themselves) saves everybody.
The
main image is very colourful and explosive, which really draws peoples
attention. Emmett (the main character) is in the center and surrounded by very
familiar characters such as batman and superman who we know from other movies
and can relate to. However, when someone see's a random person in a builders
outfit in conjuntion with superheros sprinting away from the city and
explosions this would definetly draw peoples attention. Therefore this makes
the genre codes attract family audiences.
The lego movie has many different posters for all the different main characters. The one for lord business is very striking and bold. It is close up of his face with his mechanical headgear on, in the picture his facial expression is shown to be very angry and determined. We know this as he is seen to be shouting and has frown lines over his face in the poster. His headgear has spikes that go over his forehead which are very striking and show to the audience that he is some sort of bad guy. Also his outfit has a lot of red which is a very intimidating colour.
