DOE 7

This week I took some photos where I experimented with a light and used a lamp and pointed it at different parts of Mac's face (person in photo) to see the effects it creates, for example a dark more scary look.

These are my examples of still life photos. Still life photography is a genre of photography used for the depiction of inanimate subject matter, typically a small group of objects. It is the application of photography to the still life artistic style.

As an extra I took an abstract picture of an iris flower in a vase. The photo taken from above makes you wonder what you are looking at as you are viewing something from an unusual angle.

  1. In media club, you experimented with light to see how strong contrast can create different effects. I had asked you to do some work at home, using still life, to develop these skills.

  2. OK. Still life is usually a more 'artistic' approach than you have take. The mouse, for example, is not framed in any way and the plants are taken against the light making the image hard to see.
You have not updated the lighting exercise.

  3. Good work, Sam. These photos show more care in composition and consideration of effects.

  4. I like the unusual angle, too. Creative idea.
